About Pokémon League

What is Pokémon League?

Pokémon League is a great, accessible way for Pokémon fans of all ages to get together and have some fun! League events are open to all Pokémon TCG and video game players regardless of experience level or skill. Bring your own cards and/or Pokémon video games and you can play, trade, make new friends, and even earn cool prizes!

Where is League?

We meet at Box Buster Sports Cards, 16367 S. Townsend Ave Unit 7, Montrose, CO 81401. Casual league events are held every other Friday from 4-6pm, and we have tournaments and other events throughout the year. Visit our Upcoming Events page for more details.

How does it work?

When you arrive, check in with Professor Zack and receive an official Play! Pokémon Player ID card if you don’t already have one. You can then have your name added to our League Achievement Board where you can earn points by playing games with other trainers and completing activities. Earn enough points, and you’ll receive exclusive Pokémon League prizes!

The best part is, you can do all this with other Pokémon players who love collecting and playing just as much as you do… and it’s completely FREE!

Professor Zack Lawrence, Western Slope Pokemon League

Who’s Professor Zack?

Zack Lawrence is the founder and League Owner of the Western Slope Pokémon League. A husband, father of four, and resident of Montrose since 2013, he started the League in 2015 when he rediscovered his childhood love of Pokémon and wanted to enjoy the hobby with others. At the time, there was nowhere on the Western Slope to go for official Pokémon events, so he decided to do something about that! He got his Professor certification, and the Western Slope Pokémon League was born! A lot of changes have come and gone over the years, but he’s dedicated to growing a safe, fun community for Pokémon fans of all ages.
