About Pokémon League

What is Pokémon League?

Pokémon League is a casual time to hang out, play and trade with other Pokémon fans, no matter what your skill or experience! Leagues support play with the Pokémon TCG, video games, Pokémon GO, and more. Officially sanctioned leagues also often have exclusive promos and prizes to give away to attendees!

Where can I find leagues on the Western Slope?

In Montrose, there is no longer a local game store, so official organized play and tournaments have been suspended until further notice. However, that doesn’t mean there’s no more Pokémon fun to be had! The Western Slope Pokémon League now meets for casual fun events at the Montrose Regional Library, 320 South 2nd St., Montrose, CO 81401. Because the availability of the library’s meeting room is constantly changing, we do not have schedule to meet at regular intervals, but we will be meeting on Saturdays. Please see the Upcoming Events page for the current schedule for Montrose.

In Grand Junction, there is a Pokémon League at Board Fox Games, 623 Main St., Grand Junction, CO 81501. Casual league events are held every Thursday from 4-6pm, along with tournaments and other events throughout the year.

Visit the Upcoming Events page for more details.

Who’s Professor Zack?

Zack Lawrence is the founder and League Owner of the Western Slope Pokémon League. A husband, father of four, and resident of Montrose since 2013, he started the League in 2015 when he rediscovered his childhood love of Pokémon and wanted to enjoy the hobby with others. At the time, there was nowhere on the Western Slope to go for official Pokémon events, so he decided to do something about that! He got his Professor certification, and the Western Slope Pokémon League was born! A lot of changes have come and gone over the years, but he’s dedicated to growing a safe, fun community for Pokémon fans of all ages.
